Congratulations to three BISM students who have made it into a local paper this week.

We recently submitted students' work  into a local competition between schools.  The following students all won, or had a special mention with fantastic comments from the judges :

Soleyman O. Y4 won Best Primary Artwork. Art critic Georgina Oliver said ¨This stopped me in my tracks. It's semi-abstract. Very´green´. Like total immersion in nature. With a second layer of intense animal-vegetable-mineral activity in the background.

Sofia I. Year 3 had a special mention in the Primary Artwork category. ¨This is a golf- course fantasy that places the onlooker in the shoes of the player as club and ball whirl into action - in a lush, almost ´super-natural´ environment¨said Georgina.

Alexander J. Year 7 had a special mention in the Secondary Artwork category.¨Once more we are in the presence of somebody who, regardless of his age, has something to say about who we are now. I love the mix of the Malaga tile patterns and ´preschool stamps¨of the little fish doing their best to continue to be themselves in the strange circumstances that are redefining us...Both the concept and original composition strike me as highly original.¨ Georgina Oliver.

We are very proud of our in school talent !

In other news we are delighted to let you know that this week saw the welcome return of competitive sport to BISM when our Under 10's football team played a friendly football match against Aloha College Under 10's. We are even more delighted to let you know the score, it was 9-3 to BISM. Well done to the team. It was a magnificent performance in what was a more competitive match than the scoreline would suggest. We look forward to seeing more matches in the coming weeks and months.
