Parents, staff and children had a fantastic, fun filled afternoon on Friday 11th December at our annual BSM Winter Fair. The top floor, Reception area and Primary playground were transformed for the festivities with stalls, games and the ever popular Parent´s bar serving hot mulled wine for weary parents in need of a boost. Triple A joined us with their adorable puppies which melted many a heart and raised them some well needed cash to keep the animals warm and fed throughout the winter months. There were stalls a plenty selling student made goods such as Christmas decorations, homemade truffles (Year 2 did a particularly good, hard sell!), sock snowmen and reindeer food. The McCarron family laid on a splendid variety of festive goodies from Grinch dust to peppermint body scrub and fresh fruit and vegetables. Even Santa paid us a special visit taking time off from his busy schedule, resting his tired legs in a comfy corner where the children posed for photos and requested last minute Christmas gifts.
We finished off with our ever popular raffle which included an array of generous donations from restaurant vouchers to enough wine to fill a small wine cellar followed by a surprise performance from the BSM Staff band and a star performance by Mr. Holden as a secretly talented super star rapper! For those of you that missed it hopefully he will be persuaded to an encore performance at the upcoming talent show in February!
The afternoon drew to a close and fun and laughter was had by all whilst raising a staggering €1217.13 which goes to this years charity Ayuda Syria helping Syrian refugees on the Turkish border. A massive thank you to everyone as usual for your generosity and support which made the Fair a great success.
