Mr Fred Chaveneau

Position:
Head of Secondary
Qualifications:
BA English, University of Angers, France PGCE, Institute of Education, University College London, UK
I grew up in the Loire Valley, in France and studied English literature and civilisation at the University of Angers where, inspired by the language, history and culture of the English speaking world, I intended to spend a year in London. I was far from imagining then, that I would be spending the next 17 years of my life in the UK and would complete a PGCE at the University of London and work in two very successful Independent Schools. In the latter, I became Head of French and later the Head of Modern Languages of a large thriving and dynamic Department. These experiences in Middle management have taught me a lot which I hope to continue to build upon. This new chapter on the Costa del Sol is exceptionally exciting for both personal and professional reasons and I hope to bring my experience and knowledge to actively contribute to and lead the Secondary School at the British School of Marbella. I am passionate about many things in life, but outside of the classroom, I am a keen sportsman, I love travelling and attending theatre representations and, as a true Frenchman, I love gastronomy and oenology. However, most importantly, I am passionate about Education and I look forward to witnessing pupils at BISM thrive in an environment that encourages, stimulates, motivates and challenges pupils to reach their potential and become better citizens of the world.
