On Friday 11th September, Year 4b5 dressed up and took part in different activities relating to World War II.
As part of our topic this term, the children are learning about the events surrounding WWII and the impact it had on people during that time.

The children put a lot of thought and effort in to their costumes and on arriving at school, came into a classroom that had been ´bombed´.  Table and chairs were upturned and children had to find cover during an Air raid´.   During this time we discussed thoughts and feelings and the children wrote Diary entries, in role, documenting their experience.

By mid-morning, the class was using maps of Europe to plot the German invasion of other countries.  We ended our morning by playing a game in the playground that helped develop an understanding of the Battle of Britain.

Everyone took part in our Wow day, making it a great success and lots of fun!
