Book Week really sparked the children’s enthusiasm for reading.

Book Week really sparked the children’s enthusiasm for reading. During the week the children wrote their own stories and designed their own covers, looked in-depth at a popular children’s author, read to children in different classes and had stories read to them by visiting teachers.  We also had the pleasure of meeting a real life author, in the form of Debbie Spencer, who shared extracts from her published novels about Monty the cat and gave the children valuable tips on how to become an author (and cat rescuer!).
The Book Fair was an ideal opportunity for children to view and purchase some of the latest children’s books in English and the week was rounded off by children and staff coming dressed as their favourite book characters.
Who ever said that reading was boring?
